Pre Xmas Party and Gift Exchange!

The special someone threw a bbq party 2 days before Christmas at his place and invited a few close friends over for some food and celebration together.

I always love Christmas! We get to exchange gifts with one another and also enjoy yummy food during the season. tsk tsk... Hence I was getting all busy trying to add in some Christmas ambience around the place - something that I adore doing. Since it was last minute, this was the best I can do. HAHA!

The little corner to put the presents. We wanted to get a Xmas tree but it was too late. Maybe next year. A Xmas tree would just complete everything. :)

All I can say is we came a long long way.... Knew this bunch since form 2 in High School and the rest were history. :)

It's good that we kept in touched till date and though it's hard to meet frequently but we still find time to catch up when we can. Since one of them went over to the Kiasu land a.k.a Singapore for studies, we met up one of the days for a dinner together when she was back.

Can you believe it? 5 more days and counting down to Christmas!

I remembered I was at Penang for Xmas last year with my family. Guess this year we will be staying back in KL. :)

The Xmas decos around are simply beautiful. This whole thing just made me feel at peace; I feel joy and gladness. hehe... I was at a couple of malls recently, so let's see their xmas decos...

Alexis Bistro, Bangsar Shopping Mall

I'm off to Penang in a while.... Will be back tomorrow night... Have a great week peeps! :)

It was Saw Cheng's birthday in November and we celebrated at Alexis Bistro; situated at Bangsar Shopping Mall. Happy Birthday Leng Lui! Hope you had a blast celebration.

I've heard of this place many times but it was only my first time there. I pretty like the ambience of the place; comfy with dim lightings but the service there was pretty slow cause it was really crowded during weekends.

Nevertheless the food was marvelous.. The range of food were pretty much like the ones you get at Ms Read or Delicious Cafe.

The super yummy birthday cake we had... Priced at RM 100 ++ per cake... rich with almonds! Yum! :P
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

The birthday girl all smiles... :)

I was late during dinner, hence only managed to snap photos of the food I ordered... The rest were pretty much done with their food by the time I arrived... Their caesar salad with grilled chicken was pretty good. RM 15

Dian Xiao Er @ Vivo City

As stated in their signage, Dian Xiao Er restaurant is famous for its freshly roasted herbal duck. Aside from that, there is also a wide range of local chinese delights to be offered.

If you're looking for authentic and yummy chinese food, here is a place worth checking out. Prices are a little high; but with the ambience, service and quality of food you get - it's worth every penny.

The whole meal cost us about 75 SGD. After coversion it's about RM 150 for the 4 of us. :)

The outside looks interesting already! Our friend recommended us to try this place at Vivo City!
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

What's Cooking In the Kitchen?? :)

Weekends are the times when we are free for some cooking marathon in the kitchen. Weekdays are usually pre-occupied with work and other stuffs, hence we only make time to explore our skills on Saturday or Sunday.

At times we ran out of ideas where to eat or what to eat, why not just cook a simple meal? It's all fun and laughter knowing the fact we are turning the kitchen into a whole war zone. LOL!

Cooking is fun but the worst part of all is of course the cleaning! LOL! Don't you agree?

The special someone & I had been quite adventurous recently and had quite a fair bit of cooking a variety of things.

Here are the collection of photos on random occasions... Be set to drool... Didn't know we could cook such yummy meals too... keke...

Ayam masak merah a.k.a chicken cooked in spicy red sauce. Pretty easy. All you need are some chicken and a packet of the powder. Fry the chicken 1st and then pour the sauce with some onions and garlic. superb!
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Soups are the easiest to prepare. Minestrone soup. I've added in spring onions, pepper, onion and garlic. Just buy the campbelle soup @ hypermarkets.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Wooo... Fried mee hoon with tow foo and vegetables. Simple and nice! Great job! :)
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I'm also good at preparing the vege dishes. So easy and healthy! Fry some chili and toss it with dried prawns!
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Stir fry vegetables with fish cakes and tow foo :)
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Black pepper sauce chicken.... all you need is pack of ready-made black pepper powder. Fry the chicken till golden brown, cook the sauce and chicken together. Yummy!
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Sambal Belacan kangkung can never go wrong... hehe
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Fried Hong Kong Style noodle!
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

More veges...
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I decided to be a little creative... adding in some noodles with the veges.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Some strawberries I bought from Cameron Highlands... Huge and soo juicy!
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Stir fry mee hoon with Pork Chop!
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Fry fish fillet wrapped with egg and topped with mini prawns...
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Vegetables with pork!
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

The marinated pork from Fion... still havent steal the recipe from her... very nice and tasty!

Black Canyon Coffee, Centrepoint - Bandar Utama

There's this nice restaurant cum cafe @ Centrepoint itself called Black Canyon Coffee. It seems to be originated from Thailand with a wide range of assorted thai food and western cuisines.

If you love coffee and Thai Food, this place is a must try. Prices here are pretty reasonable and you can have a meal for RM 15. Simple yet comfy, it's a great place to hang out for some good food and drinks.

I love coffee! Can't live my day without it... part of me is missing without my dose of coffee! LOL! :P
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

The hot coffee.... usually served with some biscuits and a tea... really good stuff.. :)
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Ice blended Green tea + dose of coffee... weird combination but it wasn't that bad... worth a try for those who wants to be more adventurous...
Iced blended.... simple and nice... you can never go wrong with ice blended coffee drinks
The Thai salad a.k.a "Som Tam". I love salads; be it western or thai, vege just make my day! Shredded tomatoes, onions, mangoes and heaps of peanuts! Great way to start your meal with a sour appetizer.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

I had their Tom Yam pasta.... Spaghetti served in spicy tom yam soup.... something special; instead of noodles, you have the soup with pasta... yum yum! The soup was tasty and sour but not very spicy!
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Assorted seafood such as prawns, fish fillet, squids and clams cooked in thick curry powder and crabmeat sauce... best eaten with white rice... :)
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Spaghetti with ham... Cooked in a thick egg sauce and topped with ham. Not very cheesy... just a little I guess... very oriental...

Joanne's Birthday, Hard Rock Cafe

It was the birthday of the 1st December baby I knew. Happy 23th Joanne. :)

A group of us adjourned to Hard Rock Café at Kuala Lumpur for some good food. I’ve been to Hard Rock of other countries like Bali but it was my first attempt to this place at Malaysia. LOL!

Hard Rock was filled with Christmas ambience with beautiful lightings, Xmas carols and even Xmas tress that surrounded the place. They served a wide range of Western cuisines, pretty similar to what Chilis or TGI has.

We were darn hungry by the time we arrived. Please remember if you are a small eater; share your food because their portion is HUGE.

Nicely lighted up and you see Santa riding on a Harley Davidson....

I love xmas! So beautiful :)
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Some decos around the place...
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

It was crowded during dinner time and it seems like a fav place for "ang moh"
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

We ordered The Jumbo Combo, priced at RM 45. An array of popular starters that's good for sharing. They have spring rolls, smoked chicken wings, onion rings, potato skins and chicken tender. Served with 4 different sauces! yum yum... we were all dead hungry and it was finished in 5 minutes :P
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Since I'm a fish lover, I decided to order their grilled salmon, priced at RM 32. The salmon was nicely grilled and served with penne and garlic bread. Really good and I think it's quite cheap with the big portion of fish served.
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

Another best selling in their menu is the Hickory Smoked BBQ Combo. You can have an option of beef ribs, chicken or beef brisket. The trio combo below was priced at RM 60. Served with fries, baked beans and coleslaw...
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

The special someone had their duo combo, priced at RM 48. The BBQ sauce was simply appetizing... Huge portion really....

The Scarlet - Restaurant Lounge, Cineleisure

Attention party lovers!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a latest addition to the happening clubs family, the scarlet @ Cineleisure! This club is fantastic; with good ambience and awesome music, cannot be missed by party lovers!! :)

It's very much a ladies club with roses embedded in the bar counter and you can see bottles stacked up as part of their design. They play the latest R&B music too! Remember to RSVP before going or arrive before 10pm else you will NOT even get a table.

I'm definitely going there again! Apparently owned by the same owner of Sanctuary @ The Curve.

Latest club with lotsa gorgeous chicks! LOL! Even their signboard is so lady like :P

Birthday Celebration@ Shilla Korean Jap Buffet, The Curve

I met up with some old friends from college and primary school for a get-together eating session at The Curve.

I was thinking hard where to eat; needed to look a place to accomodate a big group and also feed their appetite. LOL! Hence I suggested to try out Shilla Korean Jap Buffet Restaurant @ The Curve. Priced at RM 50 per pax.

I was rather dissapointed with the food. They have a wide range of Korean Appetizers but both their hot dishes and sushi weren't that fantastic. I think Saisaki has better sushi and sashimi. The "hot" dishes were cold due to the fact that they were not warmed properly.

Anyway thanks for the treat everyone and thanks for coming! :)

The ambience.. clean and neat!

Address: No 6, Lorong Dungun, Damansara Heights

I've heard of pretty good reviews about this eating place at Bukit Damansara called Jarrod & Rawlins. Hence on a fine Saturday afternoon we headed over to have brunch.

It was a bungalow converted to a restaurant. Really cozy and there were a few section of different dining concepts. You even get to choose your own food and it will be served at your table.

Definitely a place worth trying cause their food were darn yummy! :)

The deli area... you get to choose from a wide variety of sausages, assorted marinated chicken, pork and beef! WOW! We chose to sit upstairs. It was nicely decorated.... You can opt to sit outside where you get to enjoy the garden view.. awesome! Wine anyone? Happy me posing with my newly bought cookie monster shirt! LOL! Thanks for the lovely lunch ;) The poser - Mr Aaron! We ordered their weekend roast which came with a salad as starters! The weekend roast is priced at RM 48 ++. Comes with lamb, chicken, potatoes, vegetables and bread! Served with black pepper sauce! The lamb was soo tender and juicy :P Assorted sausages we ordered from the Deli counter... served with mashed potatoes... heaven! And it was reasonably priced too! One piece was approx RM 3. Posing for some photos outside after a very fulfilling lunch! Matching in blue! Then later I met with my family and here is a photo of Amber, the chihuahua! She grew soo much!!! Cilantro Restaurant & Wine, Micasa Hotel

Address: Lobby Level, Micasa Hotel Apartments, 368-B, Jalan Tun Razak, 50400 Kuala Lumpur.

On my big day, the special someone brought me to this mysterious place near KL for dinner. I was questioning exactly where we are heading to but to my surprise, he headed straight into Micasa Hotel.

Never did I know they have a fine dining restaurant there called Cilantro that offers cuisine inspired from classic cooking methods and exotic Asian ingredients. In fact the cook that night was a Japanese chef!

Food here is a little pricy but the ambience and quality of food were indeed good. Let's see what we had that night...
We were pretty early that night hence we were the 1st customer. LOL!
Dim lightings Bread and butter which was complimentary. It was a basket filled with assorted breads. There were wholemeal, almond, sunflower seeds bread... it tasted so good with the garlic butter spread that came with it...
Again complimentary from the Chef... A spoonful of yummy salmon! My fav! :PThis dish was called Wagyu Tartare with Anchovy toast and Egg Mollet, Aioli Sauce... Wooo super yummy... The waitress recommmended us this cold appetizer, RM 58!
Next dish we had was the Roasted duck breast with foie gras and daikon, Natural Jus!
OMG! This was sooooo GOOD! The duck meat was so tender and accompanied by the "goose" liver just made it perfect! :P Priced at RM 68!
The final dish we had was Confit of Bamboo fish fillet with Water Cress & Clam juice. It was darn fresh... Priced at RM 88! The fillet was wrapped with juicy mushrooms... *faints*
My birthday cake with my name somemore! :P Rich chocolate cake with assorted fruits. It was really good! Thanks dear! :)
Turned 23...
Made a long long wish again... greedy me...It was indeed a good dinner with great company :)
A very happy me! Feeling full and satisfied!
Pretty roses... don't you just love flowers?
